چکیده

In the future, facilities that are probable terrorist targets may be protected by weather analysis and forecasting systems that are part of automated capabilities that warn of the approach of hazardous chemical, biological, or radiological (CBR) material in the atmosphere. Based on information provided by coupled meteorological and transport and dispersion (T&D) models and networked sensors, building ventilation systems can be adjusted in real time to minimize air infiltration, and potential evacuation routes can be identified. Such atmospheric modeling systems must represent multiple scales of motion, from the mesoscale to the building scale. In addition to meteorological data that represent this range of scales, in situ and remotely sensed information on CBR contaminants must also be ingested. Not only is this effort scientifically challenging, the computational requirements are so formidable that buildingscale, physics-based atmospheric models are not typically run operationally. Because the Pentagon is one THE PENTAGON SHIELD FIELD PROGRAM Toward Critical Infrastructure Protection

Usefulness of nanoparticles to making shield and protection of sensitive organs in chest CT scan test

Introduction: Recently, the use of nanoparticles has increased for many purpose in medicine. One of these is using the nano particles in shields structure to protect sensitive organs such as breast which placed inside the field of chest CT scan and receives high dose. The aim of this study was the use of nano Bi2O3 to making shield for protection breast in chest CT examination ...

Cyber Security of Safety-critical Infrastructures: a Case Study for Nuclear Facilities

Computers have become crucial to the operations of government and business. Critical infrastructure protection policy has evolved since the mid-1990’s. Since 11 September 2001, the critical link between cyberspace and physical space has been increasingly recognized. Presently, critical infrastructure sectors face various cyber threats. In particular, the electrical power infrastructure is the m...

Comparison of the protection performance in a composite shield and a lead standard shield in terms of biological effects in nuclear medicine

Introduction:In the nuclear medicine departments, staff exposure to radiation is inevitable during patient positioning and radiopharmaceutical preparation. There is controversy regarding the use of usual lead aprons with respect to penetrating gamma rays used in nuclear medicine departments as well as production of characteristic lead x-ray from aprons. Methods:</stron...

Dose measurement outside of radiotherapy treatment field (Peripheral dose) using thermoluminesent dosimeters

Background: In radiation therapy, peripheral dose or the dose outside the radiotherapy field, is important when anatomical structures with very low dose tolerances are involved. One of these critical organs in pelvic irradiation is testis. The amount of radiation delivered to the testes in radiotherapy must be kept as small as possible, consistent with the limit dose of this organ. The threshol...
